The Kubuna confederacy, on behalf of the Turaga na Vunivalu na Tuikaba, and the chiefs (masi ni vanua) of the province of Tailevu, presented their i-reguregu to the family of the late former president Ratu Epeli Nailatikau yesterday.
The delegation was led by Ratu Josefa Celua Cakobau, brother of the Na Vunivalu na Tuikaba, Ratu Epenisa Cakobau, and presented their i-reguregu to Ratu Kamisese Vuna Nailatikau, the son of the late former president.
The Tailevu delegation gathered at the Nausori Village Hall, Nausori, before heading to the Assistant Corrections Commissioner’s residence at Ratu Sukuna Rd, Suva.
From Monday, April 13, to Wednesday, April 15, the official reguregu will commence.
The funeral service will take place on Friday at Albert Park, Suva, prior to the transportation of his remains to Bau Island, and subsequently for interment at the Sautabu (chiefly burial grounds).
After the vanua o Tailevu concluded their traditional reguregu, the UN Delegation, led by Resident United Nations Coordinator His Excellency Dirk Wagener, presented their traditional reguregu to Adi Koila Nailatikau.
