VODAFONE Fiji Bati centre Taane Milne will be entrusted with the captaincy of the team ahead of their Pacific Bowl Championship final clash against the Papua New Guinea Kumuls tomorrow.

Milne told PNG newspaper The National, how being a senior player in the Bati meant for him.

“I’m one of the older heads now. Every year I still put my hand up.

“We play for our families, for God, and for our people,” Milne said.

He added how the team would solidify itself for the Kumuls, ahead of their round three NRL Pacific Championship clash.

“The Kumuls have strike players all over the park, so our defence has to be tight,” he said.

This is also a chance for redemption for the Bati having lost to PNG in 2024.

The teams meet at 5pm tomorrow, at the Santos National Football Stadium in Port Moresby.
