The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) will today announce a review of electricity tariff rates following a submission from Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) seeking an increase in charges.

Electricity is declared a regulated industry under Section 5 of the FCCC Act 2010.

The last tariff review was conducted in 2019, resulting in a 2.74% increase across all customer categories from 1 October 2019, based on the Electricity Tariff Methodology dated 16 September 2019.

EFL submitted its proposal on 10 August 2023, recommending revised tariffs that include fixed, energy, and demand charges under the current tariff structures.
