ANZ Bank customers can now access ANZ Visa Debit card, which will be available across Fiji.
The card, which was launched in Suva yesterday, is guaranteed to be a safe and convenient option for local, international and online transactions.
ANZ Fiji acting CEO Saud Minam guaranteed it was 99 per cent safe and secure with a built-in EMV smart chip that offered customers greater security on their card transactions and protects them from potential fraudulent use of their cards.
The card is designed to give customers worldwide access to their bank accounts through access to more than two million Visa and ATMs worldwide, and purchases from millions of Visa merchants globally and online.
Mr Minam assured that the increased security would benefit Fiji customers.
“The ANZ Visa card provides added chip-enabled security for ATM and EFPTPOS transactions that help safeguard our customers,” he said
“An ANZ Visa Debit card is like an international access card, only better. You can use it anywhere Visa is accepted around the world, online, over the phone, overseas and in stores using money from your current or savings account.”
Mr Minam said customers must still safeguard their banking information by keeping their personal identification number (PIN) confidential, changing PIN regularly, never lending their cards to others and making sure online purchases were only via reputable websites.
Customers should contact ANZ straight away if they notice any unusual transaction on their account.
