THE HFC Bank Stadium in Suva has been confirmed to host the semi-finals of the Vodafone Deans and Weet-Bix Raluve competitions this Saturday.
This, according to the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union’s vice-president Biu Colati, who confirmed it to The Fiji Times this afternoon.
Colati said the confirmation of the stadium has been welcomed greatly, adding its availability brought relief to all involved.
He added the discussion that eventually secured the venue’s availability was done between the Fiji Rugby Union and the Fiji Sports Council, the stadium’s custodians.
“The good thing about this discussion was that they were looking at a situation that will benefit rugby and benefit everyone,” Colati told The Fiji Times today.
Meanwhile, the semi-finals of both competitions is expected to attract record crowds, after fans and supporters of various quarter-finalists filled up Churchill Park in Lautoka and Prince Charles Park in Nadi last weekend.
