Dead men tell no tales

I waited six long years for this day. Yes, like most of you Pirates of the Caribbean fans, the wait was long but don’t you think it was worth the wait because the movie was just perfect.

Yes someone dies, someone who plays a very important role dies but you’ll have to watch it to find out who.

Let me just highlight a few important events in this latest installment of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales:

* Everyone has this one goal and that is to own Poseidon’s Trident, a great and mighty special effect capable of generating more awesome special effects, gracefully meaning that it’s the key to breaking all curses at sea.

* We have a few new characters and one of them is Captain Armando Salazar played by Javier Bardem. Hey, I do not blame the writers for bringing in new characters. It would have been a little boring if the writers did not introduce new characters.

* You have Will Turner’s son Henry, another new character played by Brenton Thwaites. And if you are a big fan like me, this would not have been a surprise. I saw it coming. The end of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End gave it away. Yes, Will’s son is also looking for the Trident to set his father free of the curse that made him the immortal captain of the Flying Dutchman.

* Then you have Carina Smyth, who has her reasons for finding the Trident. I loved her character and feistiness. She eventually becomes a very important part of the search for the Trident and Henry’s love interest. There’s more in store for her so be sure to keep an eye out for surprising revelations.

With all that action and drama you would obviously expect lots of violence and a high body count, with lots of close-range sword-fighting and killings (Cpt Salazar only ever leaves one man alive aboard a ship hence the reason this installment is called “Dead men tell no tales”).

Cpt Salazar and his crew are mostly special effects, and the ship scenes are also special effect as well as the stars in the sky so come the end of it all the special effects collide in a big cataclysmic crunch of special effects.

Jack Sparrow is entertaining as ever with his witty choice of words, monkey is back and so are a couple of familiar pirates on Sparrow’s crew.

There’s a beautiful reunion at the end so stay seated to find out more.

If you choose to see the movie on your next outing to the cinemas, then you’ll definitely enjoy the special effects, adventure and a lot of crazy.
