Dates for Hibiscus Festival yet to be confirmed

The dates for Suva’s Hibiscus Festival will be finalized next week.

This was confirmed by the Suva City Council chief executive officer Tevita Boseiwaqa.

While details of the festival wasn’t released, it had been officially announced that the Flour Mills of Fiji Limited would be the major sponsor of the festival.

The details of the festival were not released, but it was officially announced that Flour Mills of Fiji Limited (FMF Foods Limited) would be the major sponsor of the 2025 Hibiscus Festival.

This sponsorship was publicly confirmed by FMF Group Operations Manager Jimi Taniela, emphasizing FMF’s commitment to supporting the event, which celebrates community, culture, and youth opportunities.

“As many of you will remember, last year FMF was one of the Gold Sponsor of the Hibiscus Festival,” Mr Taniela said.

“That experience was deeply rewarding and reaffirmed the importance of supporting events that unite our communities, celebrate our culture, and create opportunities for our people especially our youth.

“We are proud to announce that for 2025, FMF is stepping up as the major sponsor, working directly with the Suva City Council to deliver what promises to be a vibrant and memorable event.”

He said partnering with the Suva City Council, they aimed to help elevate the festival to new heights to make it more inclusive, engaging, and impactful for everyone involved.

SCC CEO Tevita Boseiwaqa while thanking FMF for their support said Hibiscus festival was a celebration of unity.

“And to us Suva City Council, this festival is for the people, regardless of race, class, we all come in and celebrate the festival as one,” Mr Boseiwaqa said.

“This is a sign of unity, sign of togetherness for the people of Fiji, which our Government want to achieve.”

The Hibiscus Festival is Fiji’s longest-running festival since 1956.
