Tailevu province has the highest number of villages and settlements with the lowest vaccination rate on Viti Levu, according to data available on the Ministry of Health and Medical Services website.
The Rewa province, which includes Lami and Suva, has the best record and shows nil areas where people haven’t been vaccinated.
MOH has identified 81 areas on an interactive map in Tailevu as having low vaccination penetration.
Villages along the Kings Rd with low vaccination rate come under an area that starts at Naibita Village and ends at Nayavu — and includes areas like Nailega, Balekinaga, Wailevu, Naveisewai and Naqia.
A total of 56 villages and settlements have been identified in Ra province with low vaccination rate and villagers along the Kings Rd include Togovere, Vunitogoloa, Naivuvuni, Vitawa, Ellington, Navolau, Vaidoko, Naiserelagi, Barotu, Burenitu, Tobu, Nalalawa and Rokovuaka, Also, on the list are 44 villages and settlements in Naitasiri, that include Kalabu, Navuso, Verata, Kasavu, Waitolu and Naqali.
Ba province which covers an area from Tavua to Nadi has 35 areas identified as having low vaccination rates. Areas in Lautoka include Lauwaki, Namoli, Naviyago, Paipai, Vakabuli and Lololo. In Serua 29 areas have flagged and include areas along the Queens Rd.
They are Lepanoni, Taunovo, Talenaua, Korovisilou, Naboutini and Navutulevu.
The Nadroga-Navosa province has 26 areas highlighted with low vaccination rates and include villagers along the Queens Rd which are Nayevuyevu, Rukuruku and Vouwa.
The Namosi area has 17 villages and settlements with low vaccination and include villages like Namelimeli, Lobau and Nabukavesi along the Queens Rd.
In the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, 13 villages and settlements have been identified.
