Telecom Fiji Limited’s head of ICT Shalvin Narayan has confirmed that construction of the company’s proposed data centre will take 24 months beginning in 2026.

Mr Narayan was among the delegates attending the 2025 EXTRA Fiji Architecture Conference and Trade Exhibition at the Sheraton Fiji Golf Resort and Spa in Nadi.

“This would be somewhere around 24 months plus project, we are starting it next year,” he said.

“We have gone through a full design cycle since it’s a very large facility first for Fiji and the region.

“So, it takes a lot of time to go through the business requirements, we have to look at the environment side, what’s available in terms of power and then design.”

When asked about the overall value of the project, Mr Narayan said this would be determined by TFL’s finance team.
