Desperation drove Intiaz Ali to dig a makeshift dam in his Wairabetia, Lautoka, backyard in an attempt to collect water during rainy weather.
This, after the family waited almost a month for the Water Authority of Fiji to restore water supply to their home.
During an interview earlier this week, he said he was fed up with the lack of response.
Upon enquiries earlier this week, WAF said it had started supplying carted water to the comunity.
Mr Ali said for drinking water they had relied on relatives.
“It’s very difficult because it’s the school holidays and we have children at home too. They need water especially in this heat.”
