From January this year to date a total of 72 Fijians have lost their lives in motor vehicle accidents.
According to the Fiji Police Force, the road death toll currently stands at 72 compared to 38 for the same period last year.
The Force is urging drivers, pedestrians and passengers for their cooperation as “we all share the responsibility of road safety.”
“Accidents can be avoided. It’s about mindset. If you choose life, you will do everything possible to be safe so that you reach home safely,” the Force said.
“We need you to adopt a change mindset and accept that road safety is a shared responsibility.
“The decisions you make will ultimately save your life and your families, guaranteeing you all another tomorrow.”
