The Fiji Sugar Corporation Ltd (FSC) has announced a temporary suspension of crushing operations at the Rarawai Mill in Ba, following a mechanical fault in the mill’s boiler system.

The issue was identified earlier today, prompting a full shutdown of operations to allow for immediate repair work.

FSC CEO Bhan Singh says technical teams are already on-site and working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

He added crushing will resume by midnight tomorrow, Thursday, July 31.

“We regret any inconvenience caused to our growers and other stakeholders,” Mr Singh said.

FSC has advised growers and lorry operators to remain in contact with their respective sector officers for the latest updates on the repair progress and mill operations.
