Sugar mills around the country has crushed 1,114,164 metric tonnes of cane and produced 100,215 metric tonnes of sugar as of September 25, says the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC).
In a statement, FSC said this was the amount produced across all three mills.
“FSC has shipped 50,060 metric tonnes in total from Labasa and Lautoka ports, and another 34,820 metric tons are due to be shipped in the next week,” the statement read.
“A molasses vessel is also expected to be in port in the week.”
Lautoka Mill crushed 394,600 tonnes of cane, produced 32,743 tonnes of sugar and 14,697 tonnes of molasses, while Rarawai Mill crushed 310,327 tonnes of cane.
From this, 26,562 tonnes of sugar and 11,367 tonnes of molasses was produced.
About 409,238 tonnes of cane was crushed at Labasa Mill, of which 40,910 tonnes of sugar and 14,921 tonnes of molasses was produced.
FSC also confirmed crushing season continued at the three mills, as there was just over half a million tonnes of cane left to be crushed.
