THE monthly cruise ship schedule for the Port of Suva expects a few cruise ship arrivals this month.
According to the Cruise Mapper website, four vessels were expected to berth, namely Carnival Luminosa, Queen Elizabeth, Disney Wonder and MS Zaandam.
One of the ships which berthed in Suva for a few hours last week was Carnival Luminosa during its 22-night carnival journeys: Transpacific.
Carival News.com stated Ted Arison founded the Carnival Cruise Line in 1972 and revolutionised the cruise industry with a vision to make a vacation experience once reserved for the wealthy accessible to everyone.
Cruise Mapper.com stated Carnival Luminosa was built in 2009 under the flag state of Bahamas.
The $1 237, 665 million ship sails at a speed of 23 knots/ 43 kilometres per hour.
The ship’s total length is 294 meters with a gross tonnage of 92720 and a passenger range of 2260 to 2712.
Carnival Luminosa has a total of 1050 crew members with a passenger to space ratio of 34.
There are 12 decks in total with 1130 cabins.
The cruise ship was last refurbished in 2022 and was formerly Costa Luminosa.
Carinal Luminosa is owned by Carnival Corporation and operated by Carnival Cruise Line.
Meanwhile the other scheduled cruise ships, namely Disney Wonder and MS Zaandam were expected to arrive on October 13 and October 22, respectively.
