Criminal intimidation charge for SODELPA 3

SODELPA general secretary Viliame Takayawa, who is accused of threatening his party’s Suva constituency representatives, has been granted a $1000 bail bond.

Mr Takayawa made his first appearance before Magistrate Charles Ratakele in the Suva Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

He is accused of threatening Amoni Kepa and Apenisa Turaga at the party’s office in Suva by uttering the words, ‘Get out of my office’ on February 22 last year.

His plea will be recorded on September 4.

In a separate case but in the same court, Mr Kepa and Mr Turaga yesterday appeared for allegedly threatening Mr Takayawa on the same occasion. Their plea will be recorded on August 15.

All three face a charge of criminal intimidation.

Police prosecutor Sharmila Lata told the court full disclosures have been furnished to the accused persons.
