You probably have a bunch of unused plastic containers lying around in miscellaneous drawers around your home.

It’s hard to find space for these containers, and even harder to figure out what the heck to do with them.

Build a first aid kit
One of the best ways to reuse plastic containers is by turning them into first aid kits. At first, a large plastic container would be best to make sure it holds everything you need, from band-aids to pain relievers to burn gauze pads.

Use them to organise your pantry
Another great way to reuse old plastic containers is in your pantry and kitchen.
If you’re anything like me and have a messy pantry, use these containers to store your bars, sauces, and more.
For taller containers, organise your different-shaped pastas. In the fridge, we like to use these containers for storing beverages in one place, as well as all other hot sauces and dressings.
This will make your kitchen feel more put together, knowing that everything is in its place.

Create a windowsill garden
One of the most fun and creative ways to use old plastic containers is by building a windowsill garden.
With your smaller square or rectangle containers, you can plant herbs and flowers on your windowsill.
There’s nothing like growing fresh basil, thyme, or oregano from scratch, and reusing containers you already have will make it even more efficient.

Make a bird feeder
You can use old plastic water bottles to make your own homemade bird feeder, just fill it up with birdseed, and make feeding holes using a knife or scissors.
Then poke two holes near the lid and insert twine or string to hang it around your yard or garden. You can also insert a twig or even a chopstick into the plastic container to make a perch so the birds can sit while they eat. Now just sit back and wait for the birds to come enjoy it.

Store mail
If you’re also tired of having piles and piles of bills and other mail in your home, just use one of your old plastic containers as the official mail holder in your house. This will help create more space for decor or other knick-knacks around your home and will give you peace of mind for having all of your mail in one place.
You can also decorate the outside of the container with markers or paint.
