The Skinny Bean Café in Pacific Harbour is battling against the odds to keep its business up and running.
Based in the heart of Arts Village in Pacific Harbour, the restaurant is quite famous among locals for its pizzas and beverages.
Business director Nilesh Kumar said many adjustments had to be made to keep his restaurant open.
“Business has been down lately as people from Lami, Suva and Nausori and those in Nadi and Lautoka are in lockdown while movement is restricted to others. My sales figures are down by nearly 70 per cent but I’m trying my best to keep my restaurant open,” Mr Kumar said.
He said by keeping the restaurant open, he was able to pay his staff.
“Despite keeping my staff on reduced hours, I am able to keep all of them and haven’t laid off anyone yet,” he added.
Mr Kumar said he was hopeful that restrictions would be eased soon so that business could normalise.
He said the business was only open for takeaways and his employees were strictly following measures set by the Ministry of Health.
