A farmer accused of insulting the modesty of Minister for Information Lynda Tabuya on social media will be remanded until October.
Lui Bale Vuibereta appeared before Chief Magistrate Joshua Waqaivolavola at the Suva Magistrate’s Court yesterday, charged with a count each of causing harm by posting electronic communication, criminal intimidation, and indecently insulting or annoying a person.
He is alleged to have posted a derogatory live video on TikTok where he threatened Ms Tabuya’s reputation and indecently insulted her modesty by uttering vulgar language on February 14 this year in Nadi.
The case is adjourned to October 1.
Another well-known Tiktoker Ana Masere was taken in for questioning yesterday on allegations of criminal intimidation and causing harm by posting electronic communications.
