Sri Sathya Sai Global Council Fiji will host six free medical camps from this Saturday until August 29 in the Western Division.
The camps aim to address the vital healthcare needs of individuals who may not be able to easily access these essential services.
Sri Sathya Sai Global Council (Fiji, Australia, NZ, PNG) chair Singanayagam Indrapalan said quality healthcare should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their circumstances.
Last year, the organisation provided more than 4800 consultations at six medical camps.
More than 120 experienced medical, allied health professionals and volunteers from Australia, New Zealand and Fiji will provide a range of healthcare services at no cost to the public.
The project will be supported by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
Key highlights of the Free Medical Camps include:
- Comprehensive medical services: medical services for all ages including general and specialist health check-ups, dental care and extraction, eye examinations, foot checks, hearing tests, cervical cancer screening and diabetes screening, blood tests and dietary advice (including cholesterol and diabetes)
- Medication and reading glasses: participants will receive free prescribed medications if they are prescribed by doctors at the camps. Reading glasses will also be provided.
- Community engagement: The camps serve as a platform for fostering community unity and collaboration. Volunteers from the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council Fiji and its sister organisations in Australia and New Zealand are coming together to help those in need.
To access the free healthcare services, participants are encouraged to bring their Fiji Ministry of Health National Health Card and any regular prescribed medication they are required to take.
