THE Nadi Town Council expects a bigger crowd at this year’s Homecoming Music Festival.

Council CEO Muni Gopal Reddy said preparatory works began yesterday for the three-day festival, which begins next Friday.

“We have been working very closely with the organisers and facilitating the set-up of the stage at Prince Charles Park,” Mr Reddy said.

“The containers for all of the concert equipment arrived at the venue today, and we should start seeing the construction of the stage over the next few days.”

He said there were initial concerns about the weather.

“We had rain over the past couple of days, and that was a worry for us, but thankfully, the weather cleared today just when the equipment arrived.

“Overall, the preparation work is going well, and we are expecting a bigger crowd this time around.

“This will be a three-day concert, and we expect more people each day, so we at the council are preparing for that larger crowd.”

Mr Reddy said consultations on safety and security were also being held with the relevant stakeholders.

“We are in discussion with our stakeholders from the Land Transport Authority, the business community, and the police.

“This is mostly to do with the overall safety of the public and to ensure the safety and security of the concert-goers.

“This is again one of the biggest concerts we will be hosting, and we expect Nadi will be coming alive over the three days.

“We hope to be able to provide the necessary services for those coming to the festival.”

The Homecoming 2025 event includes more than 40 artists, headlined by stars like Maoli, J Boog, Spawnbreezie, and Common Kings.

Also performing are Aaradhna, Sammy Johnson, Sons of Zion, Swiss, Tomorrow People, House of Shem, and Irie Love and a number of local artists.
