Constitution Day public holiday, this Wednesday

Update: 12:46PM WEDNESDAY is a public holiday as Fiji celebrates its very first Constitution Day.

According to the Ministry of Information, a march has been organised to mark this special holiday, starting at 10am from the Suva Flea Market to Albert Park.

The procession will include entertainment from marching bands such as RFMF, Natabua, Police, Xavier, College, Chinese Youth Group, National Youth band and others.

The Prime Minister of Fiji, Voreqe Bainimarama, and President of Fiji, Jioji Konrote will be part of the celebrations.

The program for the day:

9am : March convoy to assemble at Suva Flea Market

10am : March from Flea Market to Albert Park

10.30am : Invited guests to be seated

10.35am : Arrival of marchers at Albert Park

10.45am : March on

11.15am : Arrival of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji, Honourable Prime Minister Josaia

11.20am : Arrival of the President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Major General (Retd.)Jioji Konousi Konrote

– Review of the Parade by His Excellency the President
