The Nadi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NCCI) will appoint new office bearers and amend its Constitution during its Annual General Meeting next Friday.

In an interview yesterday, NCCI president Lawrence Kumar said a review of the Constitution was crucial, as this has not been done for years.

“We have around 260 members and the AGM is an annual event. And we normally elect our office bearers on a yearly basis as well,” he said.

Mr Kumar said the agenda for the meeting will include presentation of financial reports, the president’s report and secretary’s report.

“And not only that, that report would be publicly discussed amongst the members and it would be agreed and endorsed in the meeting.”

He said members had been showing interest in joining the organisation and board level.

“We will have the election of the office bearers for 2026 and 2027,” he added.

“So, with the election of office bearers, you have the election of the new president, two vice presidents, treasurer, secretary and 10 council members who will be part of Nadi Chamber of Commerce & Industry board.

“There has been a lot of interest around it, members have been showing a lot of interest in terms of joining the organisation. Not only that, joining the board level as well.”

He said the organisation have been vocal for its members and the Fijian people.

The AGM will be held at Blue Light hotel on Nadi Back Road from 6pm to 7pm while a social networking event will be from 7pm to 9pm.
