CONFIDENCE is high in the Fiji Airways Fijiana sevens camp, captain Ilisapeci Delaiwau says the team has settled well in Dubai and are raring to go.
“In our first training here (Dubai), the girls were excited, how we trained and fighting for the starting spots like coach has mentioned, she said.
“We know we are here for a reason and we are here to make a good start”
The goal is clear this weekend, leave no stones unturned and put on a great performance.
“And to push where our standards is and yeah there are expectations for this weekend to show what we have been training for in Fiji.”
Meanwhile head coach Richard Walker is pleased with the depth of players in the squad going into the Dubai leg.
With the return of national 15’s reps and the inclusion of new players from the marama cup and development squad, it’s been a difficult a task naming the starting lineup.
“Sometimes when you name a squad on a tour we get into a stage where that is just comfortable but that hasn’t happened here,” said Walker
“The girls still pushing for those starting spots which is really pleasing.”
The Fijian sevens team will take on the USA at 7.20pm this Saturday November 29, 2025.
