A BUS company in the North has come to the aid of about 100 students in Seaqaqa who have been walking home after school as a result of the lack of transportation in the area for some time now.
Parmod Enterprises Limited has provided a bus to transport the students of Tadradave Forestry Station, Vucitoka settlement, Natua and Navesidrua Village after school every afternoon.
This newspaper last week highlighted how the students had no other choice but to walk because of the problem. It stated that parents claimed their children sometimes reached home after 6pm daily.
Company owner Parmod Chand said the bus had been servicing the area for the past few days.
“The bus reaches Seaqaqa at 3.30pm and students are expected to be at the bus bay because the driver has a timetable to follow,” Mr Chand said.
LTA spokesman Iliesa Sokia said the authority was always striving for excellence in terms of service.
It was earlier reported Year One, Two and Three students were among others who had been walking to and from school.
