As Fiji welcomes visitors to our shores after a lull of more than six months, one of the country’s leading inbound tour operators had seized on the opportunity to rebrand itself.
As of today, Pacific Destinations Fiji will be known as Tewaka. Managing director James Sowane explained about the company’s new name and brand.
“A rarely used Fijian word, Tewaka is defined as ‘to grow’ or ‘to spring forth’,” he said.
“As we continue our final preparations to be travel ready when Fiji’s international borders re-opens today, the past three weeks have been overwhelmingly positive as we welcomed back some of our team who have brought the office back to life and this encapsulates the spirit of Tewaka.
“As part of the wholesome change in our brand identity from Pacific Destinations Fiji to Tewaka, we have also created a new logo that identifies who we are and the values we embody – resilience, diversity, empathy, progressive.
“It is important to note that the only change is our business name and logo. The company ownership and our core beliefs remain the same.”
Mr Sowane said their business had been in hibernation for more than 19 months from March 26, 2020, and utilized the downtime to re-model and subsequently re-brand the business.
