Company applies for prospecting licence

Mercurius Mineral Resources Pte Ltd has applied for a special prospecting licence over 135,106 hectares of land that’s in the interior of Viti Levu that covers parts of Ba, Nadi, Nadroga and Navosa.

Director of Mines, Apete Soro said in a public notice on April 23 the application was in respect of precious metals and metalliferous minerals.

Areas contained in the 135,106 hectares in the Tikina of Bemana, Conua, Magodro, Malomalo, Mavua, Nalotawa, Naloto, Namataku, Nadi, Nasikawa, Nawaka, Noikoro, Nokonoko, Qalimare, Qaliyalatina, Rukuruku, Sabeto, Sigatoka, Sikituru, Tuva, Tuvu, Vaturu, Wai and Waiciba.

“Objections against this application must be lodged with the Director of Mines before the lapse of thirty (30) days from the date of publication of the later advertisement in the Fiji Islands Government Gazette and two newspapers published and circulating in Fiji,” states Mr Soro.
