COMMUTERS don’t want an increase in bus fare, says Bus Fare Review Committee chairman Joel Abraham.

He said this was part of their findings while reviewing the bus fare.

He said they have completed the review of bus fares and are yet to submit it to the Ministry of Economy.

The Land Transport Authority, Mr Abraham said would responsible for setting up changes to bus fares.

“We are here to promote fairness to commuters and bus operators, this is our duty to the Fijian people,” he said.

“We have received responses from commuters, they dont want to have increase in bus fares, they showed this through the messaging platforms we had set up like SMS.

“This is due to the quality services, frequencies of bus services and the condition of bus fleets.”

“We have undertaken a very thorough review and had discussions with bus drivers and commuters.”
