THE return of the charity golf tournament supporting the Gospel School for the Deaf marks a renewed push to make the event an annual fixture.

Organiser Howard Politini said the idea was revived following the success of a similar event held in 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic.

“That one was put together quickly, but it showed what we could achieve. Now we want to make this an annual event,” he said.

Politini said the initiative was driven by the need to support the school’s operational costs.

He highlighted the importance of community involvement, noting that fundraising efforts such as walkathons and church support had helped sustain the school over the years.

“This is about getting out into the community and doing our part to help,” he said.

The organiser also revealed that young adults from the school community would be involved in the event’s operations, gaining valuable experience in administration and event management.

“We’re building for the future, bringing in younger people so they can carry this forward,” Politini added.

Politini confirmed that the registrations will be open from 9 am following the first Tee off at 10 am this morning.
