The Raiwaqa and Raiwai community on Saturday hosted a family event honouring the late Pacific reggae artist George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso.

Minister for Housing and Local Government Maciu Nalumisa, who attended as chief guest, said the gathering was not only a celebration of music but also a platform to address social issues affecting young people.

“Let us remember the past achievements of our legend, and look forward to the bright future that music promises for our youth, and through the words of a famous musician Christian Andersen, “Where words fail, music speaks,” Mr Nalumisa said

He said ‘Fiji’s’ songs continued to reflect the struggles of youths and highlighted music as a positive pathway for creativity and change.
