Connecting with communities through partnership is crucial for early childhood success, says Jagindra Singh Primary School kindergarten head coordinator Sheetal Singh.

Speaking during the opening of the Early Childhood Education week celebration at the school on Monday, she emphasised on the theme “Connecting with community – Partnership for early childhood success”.

“Connecting with community through partnership is crucial because it fosters a supportive environment, provides access to resources and promotes collaboration between families, educators and schools, leading to a better outcome for children,” Ms Singh said.

“As parents and childcare professionals, we have a common goal to provide best possible experiences for the young children in our care.”

Ms Singh said they had planned a series of activities and events designed to connect with the community.

The ECE Week celebration coincided with Climate Change Awareness Week.

Chief guest Ministry of Forestry’s Acting Deputy Conservator of Forests, Research and Development Alivereti Naikatini, emphasised the importance of protecting trees for a sustainable environment.

“The air we breathe is free and who gives that, the plants, the trees,” Mr Naikatini said.

“The quality of the air that you breathe every day, depends on the number of trees and plants that surround you.”
