THE Coca-Cola Games torch, for the first time, visited Moce Secondary School in the Lau Group.

The school has students from five islands around Moce.

Coca-Cola Games torch relay coordinator Onisimo Rokotuinasau said the students were delighted to receive the torch.

“The primary students joined the secondary school students to welcome the arrival of the torch to their shores. We were accorded with the traditional cere and presentation of qaloqalovi at the chiefs home,” Rokotuinasau said.

The torch relay team also visited Ratu Finau Secondary School in Lakeba.

“The students of both schools were delighted to witness the game’s flame for the first time. Not only the students were excited, the teachers and the villagers also joined in the celebration as we made history in Lau by bringing in the spirit of the Coca-Cola Games to them,” he added.

The torch relay will visit Queen Victoria School and Ratu Kadavulevu School tomorrow.
