Leaked pages from the Barbara Malimali Commission of Inquiry (COI) report have surfaced online, raising serious concerns about her appointment as FICAC commissioner.

The documents, said to include the executive summary of the 648-page report, describe the appointment process as “ethically reprehensible”, politically influenced, and potentially aimed at protecting senior public officials.

The COI reportedly found a “systematic failure of integrity” across Fiji’s governance and justice systems. It also claims the appointment was rushed, manipulated, and marred by “professional negligence” and “unlawful conduct”.

Ms Malimali’s lawyer, Tanya Waqanika, said they are seeking a copy of the report as an aggrieved party.
