A total of 20 local coaches were part of a coaching certificate course which was held at the Fiji Football Association headquarters in Suva last Friday.

Fiji Football Association chief officer Mohammed Yusuf said they were dedicated to developing the sport in the country from the grassroots level right up to the national level and was adamant this training course would help in doing so.

Yusuf said the MA’s Grassroots Coaching Certificate course would equip them to handle the delicate task of instilling the virtues of football in young and aspiring players between the ages of nine and 17 years.

“The Fiji Football Association is dedicated to developing the sport in the country from the grassroots level right up to the national level,” he said.

“We will also be taking a stringent evaluation of our development courses to ensure participants share what they have learned with their respective districts that have nominated them.”

Yusuf says this ensures the association gets maximum returns on its investment.
