EXPOSURE of players was the primary focus for the Nausori women’s volleyball team two in their participation at the Vulaca Volleyball Championship held at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva yesterday.
The team displayed their talent in a victory over the Mid-Central volleyball team, winning by two sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-14.
Selina Francis, the team captain, expressed her pride in the team’s performance and their dedication during training.
She acknowledged the tough competition they faced throughout the tournament and commended the team for their perseverance.
“From day one (Friday) of competition was really tough, it was a big competition, and I’m really proud of the girls, for their time, sacrifice, and energy during training,” said Francis.
“It was a good match against Mid-Central, the girls fought through till the end, the final day of competition is really tough also, we have a lot of tough teams participating.”
She adds the players, many of whom were participating in a major competition for the first time, gained valuable experience and exposure.
“Our team is based in Nakelo, Tailevu, we formed a great team, most of the girls this is their first time playing in a big competition like this, so we are grateful for the exposer.”
They viewed each match as an opportunity to learn and grow, with the goal of reaching the final.
Selina thanked the Nausori supporters and their families for their unwavering support and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete in such a prestigious event.
