THE opening round of the Western Secondary School Rugby League competition got off to an exciting start, with Ba Methodist High School stamping its authority across all grades in the Ba/Tavua zone.
Ba Methodist delivered a clean sweep, winning their U15, U17 and U19 matches in convincing fashion to set the early pace in the competition.
In the U15 grade, Ba Methodist proved too strong for DAV College of Ba, securing a solid 20–0 victory.
The Under-17 side was even more dominant, running in a commanding 58–0 win over the same opponents with an impressive display of attacking rugby and defensive discipline.
The U19 team completed the hat-trick of wins, defeating Nilsen College 32–6 in a confident performance that highlighted their depth and structure.
Much of Ba Methodist’s success was credited to the strong presence of players from the Ba Rugby Academy, whose fitness, skill level and determination stood out across all grades.
In other earlier results, the under-15 grade saw Nilsen College defeat Tavua District School 18–8, while Tavua College edged Ra High School 18–10 in a closely contested match.
