Civil servants with their families gathered at the Waiyevo Government Station on Taveuni to celebrate Fiji Day earlier this week.
Speaking to The Fiji Times, Asa Vono Emi said though the main celebrations were held in Suva, it didn’t dampen their spirit as they planned their own celebration on the Garden Island.
“We had children’s activities, a flag raising ceremony and cake cutting to mark Fiji Day,” said Mr Emi.
