Church to celebrate 100th year

THE Namosau Methodist Church in Ba will celebrate its 100th year anniversary this week.

According to the Methodist Church in Fiji, the Namosau Church’s 100 years of service has spawned the establishment of the Methodist Veilomani Boys Home, Ba Mission Hospital, Namosau Methodist Primary School and Namosau Methodist Kindergarten.

According to the church, the late Rev Cyril Bavin pioneered mission work in Ba while he was stationed in Lautoka and that other pioneering work was carried out by Rev Arthur Small while he was at Viwa and Rev William Slade, while he was in Nailaga.

Senior circuit steward of the Indian Division’s Ba Circuit, Saimon Reddy, said the week-long celebration would be a festival.

He said all stall and amusement rides would operate from Monday, October 5 to Saturday, October 10 2015 at the Namosau Methodist Church grounds.

“This is a program for the whole community and everyone is invited to attend,” he said.
