Australian pastry chef and chocolatier Kirsten Tibbals will be in Fiji on a limited-time residency at the GPH in Suva for a one-day Grand High Tea buffet later this month.
IHG Hotels & Resorts regional general manager Fiji and Pacific Lachlan Walker said bringing Ms Tibbals to Fiji was about more than a visiting chef, but about creating experiences people will travel for, and giving both Suva and Natadola Bay something genuinely distinctive for a limited time.
“Through Grand Pacific Hotel, we are offering Suva a first, and at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa we are extending the residency into a series of intimate moments that celebrate craftsmanship, place, and occasion,” Mr Walker said.
The Suva appearance opens a broader program delivered in partnership with InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa in Natadola Bay, where Ms Tibballs will present a series of dessert-led experiences from March 25-28, including limited-capacity moments created for guests seeking something rare and time-bound.
“Grand Pacific Hotel is part of Suva’s story, and this residency gives locals and visiting guests a rare reason to dress up, book in, and experience high tea at a level we do not often see in the capital,” GPH Suva general manager Robert Clark said.
Ms Tibbals, also known as the Chocolate Queen, said she was excited to bring this experience to Suva for the first time.
“High tea is about detail, flavour, and a sense of occasion, and I look forward to sharing an indulgent afternoon at Grand Pacific Hotel, then continuing the week with guests in Natadola Bay,” Ms Tibballs said in a statement from GPH.
A portion of sales from selected experiences will also support Daulomani Safe Home, with $5 from each sale donated to the organisation, helping provide shelter and safety for women, children, and members of the LGBT+ community in vulnerable situations.
The Grand High Tea buffet will be held on March 22 from 2pm-4.30pm.
