THE People’s Republic of China’s continues its unwavering support to Fiji’s policing efforts.
Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho at Police Headquarters highlighted this while welcoming three officers from the he People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Public Security.
In Fiji for the next six-months are Senior Superintendent Gao Feng the Chief of the Chongqing Human Resources Department of Immigration Bureau, Superintendent Feng Hao the Head of the Chongqing Police College International Law Enforcement Academy and Senior Inspector Wu Jun Xiong who is a Chongqing Police’s Regional Immigration Officer.
“Since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in 2011 the Fiji Police Force and your Ministry of Public Security, our partnership I can say is one of the most active in terms of our police to police cooperation efforts for which we are truly grateful for,” Brig-Gen Qiliho said.
“Annually we are able to send more than 30 police officers to various Provinces in China where our officers have received training from renowned Chinese Police learning institutions,” he said.
The three officers from the Chongqing Province have experience in economic crime, international law enforcement cooperation, traffic, immigration, peace-keeping and training.
Team leader Senior Superintendent Gao said they are looking forward to the attachment program having worked with Fijian police officers in the past.
“We are eager to visit as many police stations during our time here and share our own knowledge of investigations to training and make as many friends as possible during our time here”.
The attachment program will end in March 2019.
