Children are at the heart of the Methodist Church’s future, says Rev. Dr. Semisi Turagavou, as he delivered his Palm Sunday message to members across Fiji and abroad.
Marking Palm Sunday 2026, Rev. Dr. Turagavou extended greetings to families, teachers and young people, emphasising the importance of nurturing faith among children.
“To our dear children, you are the future of our Church and the living testimony of God’s love,” he said.
He said Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem and serves as a reminder of hope and faith.
“This year’s theme, ‘Jesus is the Hope of Life,’ reminds us that in every season… our hope is found in Christ alone,” he said.
Rev. Dr. Turagavou encouraged children participating in Palm Sunday programs and processions to grow in faith and remain steadfast in their beliefs.
“As you take part in Palm Sunday programs… may you grow deeper in faith, stronger in love, and steadfast in hope,” he said.
He also highlighted the unity of Christians, noting that believers remain connected as one family in Christ regardless of where they celebrate.
“Whether you are celebrating here in Fiji or abroad, know that you are united as one family in Christ,” he said.
Rev. Dr. Turagavou urged members to carry the message of hope, love and faith into their communities throughout Holy Week.
