Chiefly village begins traditional funeral preparation

Update: 10:50AM THE solemn blowing of the conch shells signifying the death of a chief has started in the chiefly village of Bua.

Traditional
clans are now gathered in the village to attend to their respective
duties. 

The traditional heralds were sent out to chiefs who have traditional links to the Vanua o Bua to inform them about the death of buli logana, Ratu ViliameTagivetaua.

The head of
the Yavusa aua Rukuruku in the village of Tiliva in Bua Lomanikoro, died at Nabouwalu Hospital at 2pm yesterday.

His wife,
Nanise Tagivetaua said the condolence gathering would begin next Tuesday and her late husband
would be buried on Thursday.  

Ratu
Viliame, a former Commissioner Northern and chairman of the Native Lands
Commissioner was 65 years old.
