Ronald Chand sells vegetables at the Sawani border in Naitasiri so he can make ends meet during this COVID-19 pandemic.
The university graduate left his job to become a market vendor in Nausori and support his parents.
“I am facing difficulties trying to make ends meet,” the 32-year-old said.
“But I am content that I am able to provide for my family during this pandemic with the little I earn from selling vegetables.”
He said the pandemic had affected his family.
“I am selling here at the containment border for two days.
“I fear that I might contract the virus but I have no other choice.
“Now it’s hard doing business and the only thing I can do is harvest from my farm and sell at the border just to buy things for my family.”
