SCHOOLTEACHER Mosese Ducivaki is honoured to be living his dream after being selected for the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians outfit for the Europe tour.
The Ketei native of Totoya in Lau is one of the six Fiji Airways Drua players selected to join the overseas-based players for the upcoming tour.
Ducivaki said he wanted to prove to his fellow local-based players they could match the standard required to be in the Flying Fijians.
He said the battle to secure his spot in the starting line-up would be tough but was confident of convincing his selection to the coaches on the ground.
“It is an honour to be selected for the Flying Fijian,” said Ducivaki.
“It also comes with responsibilities and it is a big challenge for me.”
The Naitasiri prop forward said playing and training alongside renowned names and overseas-based Fijian players would inspire him to lift his work rate.
Ducivaki, his Drua teammate Joeli Veitayaki, overseas-based Campese Ma’afau, Peni Ravai, Manasa Saulo and Ropate Rinakama have been named as props for the Europe tour.
“It is a big challenge for me knowing I will be battling against these big names for the same position.
“But I believe it will inspire me to work hard.
“Also I want to prove that local players can also play well if given the opportunity in the Flying Fijians.”
The 26-year-old said he would use the tour to learn new tactics required in the position.
Ducivaki, who made his debut in the Flying Fijians against Scotland early this year, said he would give his best if given an opportunity to play.
