Part of 32 closed-circuit television cameras in Labasa Town connected to the command centre at Labasa Police Station could be faulty.

This was revealed by the Northern Police Commander SSP Kemueli Baledrodroka who attributed the problems to technical issues.

He said at times videos from the command centre would turn blurry or fail to display images.

“I am not the expert in this,” he said.

“I cannot tell you why the closed-circuit television cameras play up.”

However, SSP Baledrokadroka said they would get the issue resolved as soon as possible.

SSP Baledrokadroka said the cameras were installed to monitor the situation in town, and was a project of the Duavata Northern Crime Prevention Carnival.

Yesterday carnival committee chairperson Satish Kumar was not in a position to comment.
