St John Ambulance and the Fiji Cancer Society (FCS) western branch were the recipients of proceeds collected during the Style Fiji 2024 fashion show at the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa in Denarau.

FCS western branch received a cheque of $62,000 while St John Ambulance was given $30,000.

Style Fiji co-founder Zelda Thomas said this was one of the largest collections made during the charity fashion event.

“Each year we are always striving to raise more money for charity and last year we could say was one of the most we collected and we will always be grateful to the people that purchase tickets to the show,” said Ms Thomas.

FCS western branch representative Vokili Ali said Style Fiji’s donation was not just a financial gift but a lifeline.

“It means more screenings, more support for families affected by cancer, more comfort and dignity for those in palliative care and more hope for those fighting cancer across Fiji,” said Ms Ali.

“Behind every dollar is a story of a survivor, a caregiver, a clinician and a child.

“Your support helps us continue our mission to ensure that no one faces cancer alone and every Fijian has access to the care and dignity that everyone deserves.”

St John Ambulance council chairman Dr Ratu Vereniki Raiwalui echoed Ms Ali’s sentiments, adding the support provided by Style Fiji enabled the organisation to acquire new vehicles.

“I am so grateful to Zelda and Marlene for always being there for us and for being part of our family,” said Dr Raiwalui.
