MISS Northern Duavata Crime Prevention Carnival 2025 Joana Divesi is calling on young people to stay away from drugs and make good choices for their future.

Ms Divesi said young people should focus on building better lives without substance abuse.

“Check in on those fighting silent battles and support one another to make Fiji a safer place,” she said.

She said young people should find good friends and stay busy with positive activities.

“If everyone works together, the community will be stronger and safer.”

Supporting Ms Divesi, newly crowned Mister Duavata Northern Crime Prevention Carnival, Luke Caginitabale said many young people had lost their lives because of drug abuse.

“You are not helpless, and you are not alone,” he said.

Mr Caginitabale said the Government and relevant agencies were fulfilling their roles in addressing this issue; now, only individuals remain to play their part.

“There is always hope, and it comes from above, God. Please, let us say no to drugs and yes to life.”

Miss Labasa Chamber of Commerce, Sarah Vosamana, was the first runner-up, while Miss Northern Waste Management, Losalini Veisa, was named second runner-up.
