A CRITICAL decision awaits newly-appointed Samoa head coach Fuimaono Bella Milo as the 2026 Oceania Rugby Women’s XV Championship approaches: Who will captain the Manusina in Fiji?

Although no final announcement has been made, Milo’s top candidates for the captaincy showcase a blend of experience, skill, and leadership.

Leading the pack is veteran Sui Tauaua-Pauaraisa, the long-time captain who guided Samoa to their historic qualification for the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Her calm presence and vocal leadership make her a natural frontrunner to retain the armband.

Challenging her is fly-half Cassie Siataga, a dynamic playmaker renowned for her scoring ability and game management.

As the top points scorer in previous Oceania Championships, Cassie is a strong contender for the leadership role.

Wingers Linda Fiafia and Davina Lasini, both consistent try scorers, along with versatile and reliable back-row forward Easter Savelio, also remain in consideration, adding depth to the leadership options.

Coach Milo’s final choice will be crucial as Samoa prepares to face Tonga on April 21 at Churchill Park in Lautoka and Fiji on April 25 at Govind Park in Ba.

Whichever player earns the captaincy will carry the responsibility of leading the Manusina’s pursuit of Oceania glory.

Fans eagerly await the announcement, hopeful for a strong leadership presence to inspire the team on the big stage.
