The FMF Suva rugby senior team is filled with confidence as they prepare for round two of the Skipper Cup competition against Lautoka at Bidesi Park in Suva today.

The team is bolstered by the addition of three debutants, Josateki Seru, Viliame Rasau, and Joji Vusoniyasi, as well as three Fiji Sevens players, Terio Tamani, Sakiusa Siqila, and Tira Wilagi.

Team manager Ulaiasi Butukoro expressed the team’s focus on maintaining their usual business approach following a successful start in the first round against Ba.

“The last few days we have been concentrating on our structures on the field, the boys have worked together, and we are ready for round two,” said Butukoro.

“We also have been working with the forwards, and, we have a new set of players that will be tested this week.”

Butukoro also mentioned that the coaches have done their part in preparing the team, and now it is up to the players to demonstrate their abilities on the field.

The team is confident in putting on a great match for the fans.

“Playing against Lautoka they are not new to the Skipper Cup, they came back last few seasons, and they played a good game against Nadi last week, we expect a good game from them.”

The team is prepared for the challenge and is excited to play at their home ground, where they anticipate strong support from both Suva and Lautoka fans, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for the match.

Suva faces Lautoka at 3am at Bidesi Park while their U20 teams will clash at 1pm.

Meanwhile, other Skipper Cup action today, Nadi will take on Macuata at Prince Charles Park, with the senior match kicking off at 3pm after the U20 clash at 1pm.

For the first time, Malolo will host Ba at Yawini Park at Mana Island, in the same time slots.
