Cape Town 7s | Fiji in third spot

The Fiji Airway’s Fiji men’s 7s side is in third position on the HSBC SVNS Series rankings after two tournaments in Dubai and Cape Town.

The Ben Golling’s coached side has accumulated 30 points from Dubai (14) and Cape Town (16) and is tied for second spot with South Africa, also with 30 points.

Cape Town winners and the much-improved Argentina side lead the standings with 38 points.

New Zealand comes in fourth place with 28 points followed by Ireland on 26.

Cape Town 7s finalist Australia is in sixth position with 26 points as well. Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s side lie in fourth place on the women’s standings.

After two consecutive fifth place finishes in the opening two events, Fijiana has 24 points.

Australia, which won both the tournaments, lead the women’s standings with 40 points.

Surprise package France come in second with 34 points, tied with New Zealand.

The next tournament of the series will be in Perth, Australia next month.
