The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team is set to bounce back in the HSBC World Sevens Series in Cape Town, South Africa, which starts today.
The side has left the disappointment of not reaching the quarter-finals in Dubai last weekend behind them and is focused on the task ahead.
Fijian 7s coach Ben Gollings said they had reflected on it and know that come Cape Town they can be a different side.
“Sometimes it takes a fall in order to really be able to kick on,” Gollings said.
“It is moments like these that you will look back on and say you know that it was actually meant to happen.
“So it is a positive moment and that is the way we look at it. That’s the way we are going to take it forward.
“We are really excited about Cape Town, knowing the beauty of 7s that you get to put things back right.”
Fiji finished ninth in Dubai after defeating Uruguay 47-0.
Gollings said it was really crucial they were dealt the card and did not make the quarter-finals, that they had to go and finish the job.
“I think that shows the measure of this side and the measure of the players,” he said.
“People wouldn’t understand how difficult that task is. It is easy at that point to switch off and to let the disappointment get to you.”
